Sorry all for the delay in getting this out.

No frills this time, here's the results.

Tournaments / A DG event like no other!
« Last post by duckychucky on September 04, 2014, 01:58:48 PM »
On Oct 4th 2014 (not 9/20 as originally slated) the Ausable Chasm tourist attraction (a 2 mile long, 150 deep, narrow sandstone gorge) in the Adirondacks of NY will host the 3rd annual "Steady" Ed Safari. This tournament, sponsored by DGA, is guaranteed to be like nothing you have ever experienced before...unless you have played a tournament in which you threw discs off 100 ft cliffs, over whitewater rapids, into baskets perched under towering rock formations, in which a raft guide ferrys you across the river and kayakers fetch your floating discs. DGA sponsors the event and allows the use of "Steady" Ed's name (and discs) because this event truly embraces Ed's motto of "the most fun wins" as it focuses on a fun atmosphere more than a competitive tournament.

Read Rattling Chains blog post from last year for a great description of the event:

Leagues / ~~~Wednesday League Week #20~~~

We are at Jamesville Beach on 9/3. Bring your 10$ and this week, due to it getting dark out earlier, registration will close at 5:10.  That doesn't mean you have to be there at 5:10.  This will just give me the ability to get cards filled out and get people on the course a few minutes earlier.  If you are arriving after 5:10 or text me (315-415-3660) to let me know so we can get your name on the list. At 5:10 we will ask if anyone knows of anyone showing up late and we'll walk the lot to check for stragglers. After that you are out of luck. Being considerate to late arrivals means disrespecting the people that arrived on time and are waiting to get their round started. Feel free to call me with any questions.

If anyone or anyone you may know needs this information disseminated in another way let me know and I'd be happy to accommodate.

 If you know of any new people planning on coming, or if you are inviting new players, share this information with them.

A perfectly cool and sunny evening.  Finally a round with no rain.  A light turnout compared to previous weeks, but that's OK by me.  32 showed and the top spots were;

Dylan/Jeremy G. - 45 - 54$
Ben Button/Jeff E. - 46 - 34$
Gary/Cap'n Jim - 47 - 24$
Cady/Tadd - 47 - 24$
Me/Dustin C. - 48 - 10$
Zack/Bargy - 48 - 10$
Luscious Luciano/Simple Jake - 48 - 10$

The full leaderboard is at;

CTPs were;
A pool on hole 9 was Spencer for 10$.
B pool on hole 10 was Burt Buttman for 12$.
C pool on hole 1 was Special K(arl) for 10$.

No aces, so the pool is up to 32$.

The end of year finale will be on Sunday September 28th.  More details to follow, but we'll start around 9 or 10am, hand out the series cash, have some shoot offs for prizes and I'll get some lunch from somewhere.  Stay tuned for more info.  FYI, the series cash will be paid out 12 deep, so check your points.  You won't get much for 12th, but you also should have shot better.

Thanks for coming out.

Leagues / Tag Challenge update and some clarification.
« Last post by bbateman82 on August 25, 2014, 09:50:16 AM »
We held the first tournament round with the tags all in for the players in the field.  16 people were there and 16 people put in their tags.  THANK YOU!!!!  Gary "The Denim Sniper" Crowley, Nicky DeGroff, Ryan Osborn, and John Buckley have thrown there tags on the page now bringing the total participants up to 29 people.

I would like to clarify a couple of things.

1) I am working on making the rules less wordy so you don’t have to go through so much reading.

2) Last week I said that you cannot challenge any person who is more than 10 tags lower than yourself.  THIS ONLY APPLIES TO INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGES (i.e. you calling someone to challenge them personally).  This does NOT apply to group rounds or tournaments.  If you're in a group and tags are played it does not matter what the tag discrepancy is.

3) I am the league administrator with Dylan Rees as my deputy.  If you have any questions, please get in touch with one of us.  Eric Trippany, Doug Bauer, Greg Mitus, Todd Bieshline, Good or Evil Twin, etc. are not running this league and (correct me if I am wrong) they probably are not interested in running it.  I think I am a nice guy (at least reasonable) so you shouldn’t be scared to ask me questions.  I don’t like getting phone calls from people at 1000 at night with "he said/she said" when the answer could have been answered directly by me.  No drama required.  You can contact me on the CNYDGA.org forum, Facebook, discgolfscene.com, or phone (315-935-9957) by text or phone call.

4)  Handicaps.  You may allow for player handicaps if ALL OF THE PLAYERS in the group agrees at the beginning of the round.  This defeats the purpose of the tag challenge but I will allow it.  This applies to that one round ONLY.  You will NOT be granted a handicap to be used during every round.

Can others see this topic? It says it has yet to be approved.

Regardless, just wondering if any CNYers are considering attending!? Smugglers' notch Resort is offering $200 of sponsorship for your club in the way of discs and prizes if there are 20 guest nights booked by CNY. Remember the rates are very low, if you come with 4 people or more we are talking around $30/night for a resort condo.

We are up to 118 registered and the max is around 130, so this is about to fill! Let me know if you are interested.
