Don’t forget to update disc golf scene with any tag rounds that have been played.  If you are having issues posting scores you can send them to me via text, phone call, or message on facebook/discgolfscene and I will update the page.  I will need the date/time of the round, the course, who played, and the scores.  If a play-off is played to break a tie, I will need the play-off scores separately.  The first round has been posted to the page with Spensaw taking back the #19 tag and Simple Jake earning the #48.  Congratulations Jake!!

Also, the first heads up challenge has been issued by Zack Parsell and accepted by Glenn Zinszer.  They will be playing Next Thursday.  If either of them play a tag round between now and lose their current tag they  will need to decide if they want to continue with the challenge or not.  I would recommend that they do even if the tag order is reversed.  It is still a chance to get out and play with other folks.

Thank you to those who are participating and keep the tags flowing.

« Last post by DougB on August 07, 2014, 08:03:05 AM »

We are at Oxbow Falls on 8/13. Bring your 10$ and remember that registration will close at 5:20. If you are arriving after 5:20 call myself (315-415-3660) or Jason (315-247-8384) to let us know so we can get your name on the list. Like last week at 5:20 we will ask if anyone knows of anyone showing up late and we'll walk the lot to check for stragglers. After that you are out of luck. Being considerate to late arrivals means disrespecting the 40-50 people that arrived on time and are waiting to get their round started. Feel free to call me with any questions.

If anyone or anyone you may know needs this information disseminated in another way let me know and I'd be happy to accommodate.

If you know of any new people planning on coming, or if you are inviting new players, share this information with them.

 Thanks.

I don't think the weather could have been any more perfect after last week.  Cool, relatively bug free and raining cash.  Mike Mort and Bob Whelan came out for their first league rounds.

43 people showed and the top spots were;
Dylan/Evans - 46 - 62$
Gary/Gillette - 47 - 36$
Bargy/Berry - 47 - 36$
Osborn/Tesla - 48 - 26$
Jarad/Golley - 49 - 12$
Chad D/Les -  49 - 12$
KC/Capt.Jim - 49 - 12$
Hanno/Meitus - 49 - 12$
Simple Zack/BB - 49 - 12$

CTPs were;
A pool on hole 6 was Ben for 12$.
B pool on hole 10 was Bargabos for 18$.
C pool on hole 4 was Tesla for12$.

Ace pool was tapped by Dylan on hole 15 for 250$.  The pool stands at 96$.

Something new that just dawned on me last night that we'll do for the rest of the year.  The winner of the CTP, gets to pick that pool's CTP for the following week.  I need Jeremy B. and Benjermin to let me know what they want.  Tesla took #13 for the C pool.

Thanks for coming out.  Thanks for not complaining on your pools and to Tony D. for taking X-man as a partner, lightning won't strike twice.  Thanks Zack and Barret for helping out with the organization.

Same place, same time next week.  Everyone has been awesome about calling/texting in to let me know you're running late or on your way, it's much appreciated.

I grabbed a nalgene with a carabiner on it, let me know if its yours.  I'll have it next week.

OK!

The 2014 CNYDGA Tag Challenge League page is up and running.  I have updated the page with the tag numbers for those who have given them to me.  Right now Doug Bauer is in the lead with the #3 tag.  He shot a 54 at clay last night so do think that taking it from him will be easy!!  #C7DG.

Go check out the leaderboard at http://www.discgolfscene.com/leagues/2014_CNYDGA_Tag_Callenge/leaderboards

Keep the tag numbers coming and I will put you in the mix.  The rules are posted in the CNYDGA.org forum and on the "about" tab on disc golf scene.  Please read them and follow them.  Again, this is for FUN ONLY so do it, do it!

There are only the four local courses currently in the list, but I can add courses if you have a challenge outside of those courses and, remember that it is up to someone in the group to update the round info and tag positions.

Good Luck everyone!

For those of you not on the Facebook, we are going to be organizing the Bag Tag game a bit.  I am going to be the facilitator for the "league".  You do not have to join, but if you want to you can give me your tag number and I will include you on the discgolfscene.com Tag Challenge League page.  There is no weekly schedule, and it is very flexible.  I cannot stress enough that people need to be updating discgolfscene.com frequently in order for this to work.  Basically, I will be the mediator for any disputes and I will verify / approve all scores that are posted for the league.  There could be 2 tag rounds before the end of the year of there could be 2 million.  Just have fun with the peeps in the club.

Disc Golf Scene will keep track of who has what tag so individual challenges can be issued according to the rules established above.

Bag Tag Challenge Rules

Conduct
1.   Everyone is on their honor to conduct themselves according to the rules and within the spirit of competition. Have fun. It's only a tag. The purpose of the Bag Tag Challenge is to encourage friendly competition among CNYDGA members.
2.   In order for the Bag Tag Challenge to work, all challenges must be accepted.
3.   Each player must have their Bag Tag at the beginning of any challenge round. Bag Tags must be plainly visible and cannot be hidden.
4.   The results of tag rounds will be monitored on discgolfscene.com. Concerns will be addressed by the CNYDGA Tag Challenge League coordinator.  If you are abusing the rules your tag privileges will be provoked.
5.   Challenges are to be made by choosing times and courses that are reasonable.
6.   Tourney/course specific rules are to be followed and if they're altered in any way it must be agreed to by all players PRIOR to starting a tag round.
7.   Friendly side wagers of any kind can be made at the discretion of the participants, but are NOT required.

Challenges
1.   Challenges may be made until 12/1/14.  That is when the 2014 Tag Challenge will officially end.
2.   One on One challenges will be completed using the following protocol:
•   The higher Bag Tag challenges the lower Bag Tag. Challenges can be by phone, computer, or in person.
•   The challenged player must give the challenger two (2) times to meet in the next two (2) weeks or they must forfeit the tag. If the challenger cannot meet that timeline, the challenge is void. Not showing up for a match results in a forfeit. (30 minute leeway)
•   The challenged player picks the course, tees and format. Format choices include: stroke play or match play but no doubles/triples etc. of any kind. PDGA rules apply (see details below). If the challenger wins the round, the tags are exchanged.
•   Ties are won by the individual holding the lower bag tag at the beginning of the round. However, if ALL players agree a play-off hole(s) can be used as a tie-breaker using sudden death or CTP rules.
3.   Any other format may be used (singles, wolf, skins, etc.) as a challenge round.  Best shot or any other team based format may NOT be used as a challenge round.
•   Any individual in the group may issue a challenge.  If a challenge is issued, all individuals with a tag must put there tag in.
•   You may still play with the group if you do not have a tag (have not paid for a tag), but you will not receive a tag at the completion of the round.
4.   Tournaments are handled using the following protocol:
•   All individuals with a tag MUST participate in challenges at a tournament. No Match Play unless tournament is Match Play.
•   Tags are thrown into a pool and distributed by score at the end of the tourney,  not round by round. No sudden death to decide ties and final-nine rounds/playoffs are exempt from challenges.
•   Tags will not be used for doubles play or League Night.
5.   You don't have to play back-to-back challenge rounds against the same player or in a multi-player match with the exact same opponents. A player can't challenge you, lose to you, and immediately challenge you again for another round. However, if ALL parties agree, consecutive round challenges are allowed. Challenges MUST be verbally agreed upon at the beginning of EACH round.
6.   Incomplete round: If a player does not complete a bag tag challenge round, the exiting player shall trade tags with the player with the highest tag number. If play is stopped by all players before the round is complete, no tags are exchanged. This could be due to hazardous weather, physical emergency or mutual agreement.

Reporting
1.   Players holding tags must update the club with the results of each challenge. Submit scores at discgolfscene.com.
2.   The winner of the challenge is responsible for reporting the results of the challenge.
3.   Players wishing to get information as to who holds each tag may check at discgolfscene.com.

Lost Tags
When a tag is lost, the number is dropped from the standings.
(Do we have any way to replace lost or damaged tags?)
Contact Barret Bateman with questions/concerns or to report a lost tag; 315-935-9957
HAVE FUN!

Sorry again for the delay in getting this info out.  JJ Jimenez just happened to be shooting a round at the park and decided to stay for league, and Mike O'Neill came out for the first time as well.  It was a stormy night with some lightning, but we got through it.  A couple people bowed out, which was more than understandable given the conditions.  42 people stuck around and the top teams were:
Dylan/O'Neill - 53 - 60$
KC/Hanno - 54 - 38$
A.Faes/Hooper - 56 - 32$
O'Malley/Hartman - 57 - 22$
Gilmore/Fortin - 57 - 22$
Basilio/Les - 58 - 20$

The full leaderboard is at;
http://www.discgolfscene.com/leagues/2014_CNYDGA_Wednesday_Night_League/leaderboards

CTPs were;
A pool on 10a was Dylan for 15$.
B pool on 11 was Jake P. for 18$.
C pool on 10 was O'Neill for 15$.

The ace pool has been capped at 250$, with 53$ to roll over.

Thanks all for coming out.  The weather was the sketchiest that we had all year.  Everyone had the option to leave, but the majority wanted to get a round in despite the lightning.  I know a few people were apprehensive, but got goaded into it by there partner.  No disasters except me putting O'Neill in C pool.

We're back at Oxbow this week.  Same deal.

Doug.
