Thank you for the overwhelming positive response to this announcement. I would like to take a moment to update everyone on where we currently stand and where we need to go. First, we do not have the course layout finalized yet as we are still waiting for better weather and the park representative. Second, we have commitments from 16 individuals to sponsor a hole!! Yes, 16. That being said they are only commitments at this time and baskets can’t be bought with commitments, eh. Next phase is to actually start collecting money.
Here is how we are going to do this. The Par 2 event being coordinated by Dylan Rees on February 28th (please register before February 15th) will be the official kickoff for the fundraising efforts. Bring your hole sponsorship money to the event. Since we do not have a set course design yet we will hold off on choosing which hole you are sponsoring until we have locked the course design. Once a design is agreed upon between Dylan, Van Buren Park, and myself we will put together a course map and publish it for reference. At that time you will be able to select which hole you want to sponsor IN THE ORDER WHICH YOUR MONEY WAS RECEIVED. If you would like to get your sponsorship money to Dylan or myself before February 28th, just get in touch with one of us and we can make arrangements. We are out on the courses most weekends so we should be available.
Other fundraising activities:
•All proceeds of the Par 2 will be used to sponsor a hole.
•I will be purchasing some Paragon Dry Fit Tee Shirts that I will be using to raise money and I will match the proceeds from these shirts which will be used to pay for 2 baskets. More details to follow. Expect the shirt cost to be approximately $20.00 each
•Trip has already started making money with $131 raised on the first day of his Sunday league. This is a great start towards our fundraising efforts. Big thanks to Trip and please go out on Sundays to shoot with the group and raise money.
•CNYDGA has donated $1000.00 to the project
•Wednesday Night League has donated $300.00
