General Discussion / Re: CNY disc golfers...... save June 15th on your Calendar....
« Last post by DougB on June 13, 2013, 10:27:35 AM »
Great event and the Town of Clay parks people truly appreciate the clinic/intro to the sport.

Last year it was by far the biggest draw.

Also, there is ALOT of stuff for kids to do, so very family friendly.

BUMP, BUMP, let's all do a BUMP..... ;D

OK I know many folks maybe out of town this Saturday, BUT if you are not....
Try to stop by Clay Park Central.

On the Wetzel Rd side the Town of Clay will be having their annual Family Fun Day, many things geared to the kids and almost everything is FREE....

Like the past few years CNYDGA will be onsite promoting the course and disc golf in CNY.

Nothing to do come hang out with the CNYDGA crew.

It all starts at 11:00 am and goes until 5:00pm I believe.

We'll be putting on practice baskets and giving those interested a quick tour of several shorted holes we are laying out....

Short 9, hole 10, short 7, short 8, etct etc...

Thanks,
Evil Twin

You are welcome, being a disabled vet myself and a student at Niagara University it only seemed fitting to do something like this as a way to bring community awareness as well as fun to the table.   It will be an annual event so hopefully you can make it next year.   We are also contemplating a random doubles event on veterans day.

Rain Tuesday, no rain Wednesday, rain Thursday...see the trend?  Had a bunch of new people and some old faces that haven't been around in a while.  It was great to see the Demillos, Trip  and Mike Dudczak back.  Showing up for the first time was Mike Thomas, Amanda Thomas, George Sclavos and Luscious Luciano Legend.  That's not really his last name, but I couldn't spell his real one.  Awesome weather yet again lured 42 people to Oxbow last night.  I'm sure the 360$ ace pool had nothing to do with it.  There was a 4 way tie for 1st.  We did a CTP from the practice basket up to 1 and eliminated 2 teams, then a CTP on 3 to establish 1st and 2nd cash.  Top spots were:

Crowley / Sclavos - 46 - 60$ (always great to have a new player win big!)
KC / Fly boy O'Malley - 46 - 38$
Billy / Spicybrown Ash - 46 - 30$
Basilio / Bargabos - 46 - 30$
Evil / Ace chaser Kilbury - 47 - 16$
Me / Lucas East - 47 - 16$
Spensaw / *D* - 48 - 10$
Osborn / Bowman - 48 - 10$

Full leaderboard is at:
http://www.discgolfscene.com/leagues/2013_CNYDGA_Wednesday_Night_League/leaderboards

CTPs
A pool on hole 3 was Osborn for 14$.
B pool on hole 4 was Tony D for 14$.
C pool on hole 10 was Ash for 14$.

Ace pool is now at 360$ and counting....

Thanks all for coming out.  The amount of players each week has been incredible.  Lots of new regulars this year.  Good luck to all shooting in tourneys this weekend.

I just heard from the park manager, I guess the mower was broken and they couldn't get to it. They are going to try to and get out there in the next couple of days and mow, but there are some spots on the courses that are fairly wet and he won't have them mow if it is going to rut up the course. He suggested getting extra spotters out there...so if anyone is coming that has a friend that would like to hang out and have fun, but doesn't play...or anything of the sort...please bring them along and I will find a nice spot for them to hang out and watch plastic on the course!! It would be greatly appreciated!

Anyway,we all had a TERRIFIC time and hope that Buffalo & Syracuse can get some "senior" DGers together for next year, which will be our 5th!!!!
