NIbs u missed Don, myself  and a guy fro Pittsburgh  that Donnie shot with in a tourney.
It was nice and Mike the guy from Pitt was very impressed with Oxbow and J'ville.
Kudos to CNYDGA Grin

My son and I are going to Oxbow tomorow (Sunday) morning.  We are visiting from San Diego for several days and are playing a number of different courses while in the area.  We leave on Monday to play a 4-day tour of courses in New England.  If anyone's interested in playing come on out - we'll play doubles for a few bucks or skins, whatever.  We just like to play.

Hope you liked Oxbow Rizbee, it needs a little grooming for end of the year CNY championship.
It's more of a technicians course than a grip and rip course.
Hope you make it back this way again someday...

We did enjoy Oxbow quite a bit.  Part way through I was thinking I'd like to shake the left hand of the course designer (get it? Grin), but I'd say overall it's a very good design.  Not every course has to be grip it and rip it.  I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.  Had a few highlights:  I dueced #2 with a Sidewinder to within 50 ft followed by a Whittler up the hill and in.  Then I had back-to-back bidies on 15 and 16 (I think).  Still scratchng my head on the 90-degree tunnel shot hole (#8?), but it is a good challenge.  I'd like to come back for a tourney one day.

We're heading to Sylvan Beach today - I heard there's a mini-golf course with some funky disc baskets...maybe a non-urban legend?  Then on to F.X. Matt for the tour and a few cold ones!

Nice shooting at Oxbow. #2 is a tough duece. You're in the majority on #8. It wasn't always so tight, it's grown in quite a bit. You used to be able to try a big spike Anhyzer or a spike forehand. Of course this caused for many a lost discs way up in the trees. We all love this course and considering it was the first attempt at designing a course (no pros) I think Sam,Gary and Doug did fine. We only had so much land and it was the first time the park had heard of disc golf. Now that it has caught on we hope to extend or add on to the existing course.

I'm going to contact the parks department to see if they can get Oxbow trimmed up for August leagues.  Is everyone ready for Oxbow?  Yeah baby, a whole different world.  Things can certainly change up now.......love it!
