Thanks to everyone who came out to the first Ace Race in CNYDGA Territory! KC, Trip, Ben, Evil, AJ, Jason and Jason all donated baskets for the day to make up our 27-hole course. It was a touch chilly but we mostly avoided any rain. It even got comfortable in the afternoon when the sun poked out.
Greg Meitus aced hole 8 to win a prize voucher. Benny Boom Boom aced 18 AND the hanging basket 14b for prize vouchers. There were 3 other prize vouchers that went unclaimed during the day so we had a CTP throw off for the final prizes.
Billy Sivils won the CTP for hole 10, Matt B took hole 14, and Mark Rozansky parked hole 16. They all took home some swag as well.
As for the big showdown, Ben Basilio and Scott Purdy both had killer afternoon rounds to finish the day with 2 aces and 3 metal hits. They had a best 2 of 3 CTP throw off. Ben continued his dominance on the day and took the grand prize of a Discraft bag and a stack of discs (which included a white Soft Magnet that Billy promptly begged for.) And also the title of 2012 Clay Park Ace Race Champion! Purdy took home a sexy Eclipse Ion and $15 at Marshall Street. Not too shabby.
