Climo holds one shot lead at 2006 Worlds!
« on: August 10, 2006, 06:13:56 PM »
Ken Climo holds a one shot lead after day 2 at the World Championships in Augusta Georgia.
Reigning Champion Nate Doss just shot an amazing 42 to launch into second place after 4 rounds.
Here's how the Open division stands:
 1. Ken Climo (-43)
 2. Nate Doss (-42)
 3. Avery Jenkins (-39)
 4. Walter Haney (-38)
 5. Steve Rico (-37)
 6. Barry Schultz (-35)
There are 2 rounds left, then a one round semi final and a final 9 on Sunday.

In the womens division, it's the Reigning Champ Des Reading over 5 time Champ Elaine King
by 9 strokes after 3 rounds. The other five time Champ Julianna is in 6th a whopping 14 shots back right now.
Also Doug Corea is in 10th place in G-Masters, 15 shots off the lead after 3 rounds.
Doug Blighton is in 20th and Rich bevins is 46th so far in G-Masters. Jim Palmeiri is in the Senior G-Masters and is in 12th.
One more note on a former local: Gary Gregory is at pro Worlds playing masters and is in 48th at the moment.

2006 Champ Nate Doss has overtaken Climo by four shots going into Sarurday's semi final round. Climo blew up with a 65 and Doss scored a 58 in the 5th round. Kenny came back and cut the 6 stroke lead to 4 in the 6th round.
 Here's the top 7:

 Doss -58
 Climo -54
 A.Jenkins -53
 J Mcray Jr -51
 Matt Orum -48
 W. Haney -48
 M.Moser -47
 B Schultz -47
Only 18 holes left to geta spot in the final 4 for Sunday. I'd like to see Doss Climo, Orum and Schultz (like last year)

  Des Does Augusta.....Well

She now holds an 8 shot lead, the only lady under par going into semis.

In Masters, Joel Kelly is leading last year's Champ Dean Tannock by 1 shot while perrenial champ Brad Hammock is in 5th, with one more round to make the final 4.
Gary Gregory dropped to 52nd in the Division.
Doug Crea is in 12th, while Blighton is now 25th and Bevins 42nd in G-Masters
 J Palmeri is 11th in SR G-Masters.

Come on Climo! Show Nate you are STILL the man.
Go Des, you'll catch Julianna and Elaine for a 5th World title (when you win NEXT YEAR also).
Barry- time for a "Barry" round to launch into the finals.
Hey Legends- Time for a new champion now that Ted left us after 5 World Titles.
Masters- Could be Joel's year. He was in the finals last year and lost to Dean.
Locals- Come on Doug, break into the top ten, looks like you made the cut to semis.
 Congratulations!!!
  I

Ken wins number 12 by 5 over Nate, Des wins number 3, and Hammock wins masters. Don't know any others yet.
Every great drive is just another opportunity to 3-putt.

YESSS! Kenny proves that the best of all time is also the best right now!
Jim, make room for some 12- time Champion plastic for your collection.
Looks like a lot of former and current World Champs have struck again.
Brad Hammock with a true comeback to get into the finals and win by ONE at the end. He's won I think 6 times now in Masters.
Des does it again for 2 in a row and 4 overall, one shy of the ladies record.
Shive has won umpteen in a row in Sr G-Masters but only won by 2 shots this year.
Nice job Doug Corea making Cash in 11th for $450. Doug Blighton also made the cut and the cash line at $150.
Jim Palmeri made it to the semis and ended up 10th but missed the $ .
Bevins came in 42TH, beating 11 players, including the legendary Stork!
Rick and Sykvia Voakes will each enjoy being World Champion this year. The "World Champion Couple!" :D
Seemed like a great, competetive(4 divisions were decided by 2 shots or less)Worlds.
Congratulations to the BEST OF ALL TIME- Ken Climo
He reached pentheon status long ago yet continues to add to his legacy. He's Tiger.
He's Wilt, and Gretzky..and..Ali....all in one. Not to be duplicated in our lifetime,
   simply, THE MAN.
