Aces Showdown!
« on: August 07, 2006, 12:50:02 AM »

Great Job by Rochester yesterday. Absoulutely perfect weather! I will have the full results posted soon, I'm waiting on some final details from Rochester. As Tom posted here's the standings:

Syracuse 3277
Rochester 2711
DiscIthaca 1369
Corning 958

And here's the stakes:

First Place Club: $485
Second Place Club:$291
Third Place Club: $194
Fourth Place Club: Names the charity

Per the ACES rules (check Info for Players on the discithaca website) a final points event will be held within the CNY championships. Here's how it works:
Only those who have played in 2 or more 2006 ACES events will be counted (qualified) in the final points event.

All qualiers will have their first round score tabulated among all qualfiers and points tabulated as we have for all ACES events.

The only point factors applied are for women and juniors (2x).

The other rule states that it must be statistically possible. There are 51 players who qualify (those who played in at least 2 ACES events). If ALL of those players play and if All of the Rochester players take the top spots and All of the Syracuse players take the bottom spots - Rochester can beat Syracuse in the series.

The same applies for Corning's opportunity to take DiscIthaca for the last $ spot.

So it's on!!

So, the standings may change at the CNY Championships. The final points event do not influence the MVP awards. We will be recognizing the following:
Most Valuable Player - the player who has accrued the most points in the overall series.
Most Valuable Women Player - top Woman points earner
Most Valuable Junior Player - to Junior points earner
Most Valuabe Player - Club - those players who earned the most points for their club.
ACES Spirit Award - Player selected by the four clubs who uniquely contributed to the series.

Also, we'll have the four CTP qualifiers throw off in some funky fashion for the prize.

Stay Tuned!
