Brings back memories of my very first Ace, using a real golf disc (an Innova KC Eagle IIRC) on 9/27/99… Skip ace that was witnessed by my mom (IIRC) but never forgotten… Hence #8 as my lifetime membership number….
I must admit that there is a special place in my heart for this course simply for the memories of the great friends that I had (and still have) back in the day, so to speak!
However, I owe a lot to Gary C. for being the best student/teacher a guy could ask for….
I also must admit that I am more proud (and, perhaps, a bit less humble) when I aced #2 for the first and second times (what a shot to see a Disc-craft Stratus, which I still have in my bag, glide down the fairway from left to right and then disappear only to break left again and hear the sounds of the chains… blindly praying that the disc stayed in the basket!)
I used to write my aces on the back of my discs when I played that course but most of the “memories” have worn off those heavily used discs….
I miss the sport but I must thank the CNYDGA for the memories that my family and I have shared through the years…
The good ol’ days…
Best regards and keep up the GREAT work from your old Pal…
…J/K!!! In my eyes, Eric T. Doug Corea and Bobby Jones may deserve that title a bit more based on their phenomenally smooth releases (if you don’t believe me, just ask my best DG’er buddy, GC!~)
